MiniWarrior~ism and Kat~ism

I'm still sick. I was fussed at by everyone so I went to the emergency clinic.
I filled out a crapload of paperwork and paid my 20 bucks.
I followed the nurse back to the doctors office.
She paused by the scale to weigh me.
"I'm here so you guys can make me feel better, not worse!" I groused.
"Oh. HEE HEE HEE HEE." She giggled while the gleeful sadistic wench recorded my weight onto my permanent record.
Freakin McDonalds luring me in with their new golden fried chicken biscuit breakfast sandwich.
*mutter*
The doc came in, poked at my swollen glands and said,"Does that hurt?"
"Yes!" I growled to which he responded with a rusty doctor chuckle and said,"Yeah, I imagine so...har har har."
Evil Sadist Bastard.
He kept asking me if I wanted a note for work. Three times, in fact.
Do I look like I'm 12 and need a doctors note? WTF?
*grumble*
He scratched out a prescription for penicillin and sent me on my way.
Fricken horse sized pills.
*mutter*
Freakin sickness on my weekend.
*mutter* *grumble* *mutter*

On a humorous note....

I called MiniWarrior at his Dads house on Tuesday while I was at work.
During the course of our conversation I mentioned that I was sick and at work.

"I'm sorry, Mom. That sucks that you feel bad."

"Thanks, Son."

"How old do you have to be to be retired?"

"Oh, about 65."

"Wow."

*pause*

"Would you get arrested if you retired before 65?"

"Nope. You can retire whenever you have enough money so you don't have to work anymore."

"WOW!"

*pause*

"I'm saving my allowance so I can retire at 40!"

Hehehe. The kid kills me.

Kills. Me.

Spring Fever

I am home sick today. I awoke this morning with a very sore throat and an aching body to match.

I stumbled to work for a few hours until the next shift came in--then stumbled my way back home and onto my sofa and Hello Kitty pillow.

I must go trudge my way back to the sofa and lay down again.

I shall return when the sickie beast lets loose his claws.

A Kats Eye View

I have been busy creating another blog where I have posted some of the photography I dabble in.

When I was 8 I discovered LIFE magazine and passionately wanted to grow up and work for them. Alas, that dream was cut short when LIFE ceased being a regular subscription magazine.

Possibly a good thing as I'm (probably) too quirky to be a LIFE reporter! *grin*

Come on over and visit!

Two Claws Up!

I am in the midst of reading a debut novel by Tom Rob Smith entitled: Child 44

I'm 3/4Th's of the way through the book and I must say, it's amazing!

It's a murder mystery/thriller set in post war Soviet Russia. The time when Stalin reigned.

It was a time when everyone was fed the lie that under Stalin's rule--everyone was taken care of. There was no crime. Lives were good.

The horrible reality was that everyone lived under tremendous fear of the government. Every action was under scrutiny and you could be labeled a traitor for something as small as casual conversation with friends or strangers. Poverty ruled. Supplies were lean. Torture and execution was an every day occurrence.

It's in this setting that a serial killer is running rampant. The dilemma is, how can people be warned if one could be arrested for admitting there is crime occurring under the glorious Russian rule?

This book has so many twists and turns I find myself reading it slowly so that I can wring every drop of literary goodness out of it.

If you're looking for a book that will immerse you into another world, I highly recommend Child 44.

Is It Just Me, Or...

I must admit to feeling a twinge of guilt every time I consume an orange and there is a baby orange segment clinging to a larger one.

I swear I can hear it cry as I separate it from its mother and plink it into my mouth.

I am, however, not completely heartless--as I quickly consume the larger segment (after chomping the baby segment) so they can be together again inside my tummy.

...

I'm currently accepting donations for therapy sessions.

&%# Kids! Get Off My Lawn!

The following is a conversation I had with new (young) coworker today:

*older coworker snatching up a tangerino off my desk*

OC: What kind of orange is this?

Me: Hey! Leggo my Tangerino!

OC: *snort* It looks demented.

Me: *chuckle* Yeah--doesn't it remind you of the plant that spit love poison at Spock?

OC: ha ha ha ha ha--yeah!

*blank look from young new coworker*

Me: You know. Spock...off of Star Trek?

YCW: *blink* Oh yeah! My Dad used to watch that show!

must. kill. youngling. now.

Revenge On Hold

I had a most excellent revenge planned for Lord V. But alas, I must put it on hold as he is sick with the flu.

*blink*

What? I didn't poison him!

Honest.

*nods nods nods my head all sincere like*
