Berry Scarred

I rode my bike up to the neighborhood blackberry patch and picked the first berries of the season.

I came away with a bucket full of scrumptious blackberries and some berry vine battle trophies on my legs.

See?!

I shall make a blackberry cobbler tonight to celebrate my victorious battle!

there is a mulberry tree across the street from me. the tree is actully planted inside the yard of my neighbour across the street. but the tree completely leans outside of their yard. i take it as an invitation to help myself with its fruit. you got to see it, it begs to be picked! i'm thinking to invest in a big ladder so next spring i can reach the berries on the top.

Aafrica: what do mulberry's taste like? Send your kid up the tree to get the top fruit...that way if he's caught by the neighbors...you can shake your finger sternly at him and act like its all his fault! :D

Please do not tell Mother Bing of the summers first berries! I have berries remaining from last year I have yet to eat and am not eager to wear the wounds of berry land!

Mei Lian: Frozen berries make wonderful smoothies! Here is our smoothie recipe:
Frozen fruit
one yogurt cup any flavor (although key lime is the favorite)
water

My son begs for smoothies all the time!
