&%# Kids! Get Off My Lawn!

The following is a conversation I had with new (young) coworker today:

*older coworker snatching up a tangerino off my desk*

OC: What kind of orange is this?

Me: Hey! Leggo my Tangerino!

OC: *snort* It looks demented.

Me: *chuckle* Yeah--doesn't it remind you of the plant that spit love poison at Spock?

OC: ha ha ha ha ha--yeah!

*blank look from young new coworker*

Me: You know. Spock...off of Star Trek?

YCW: *blink* Oh yeah! My Dad used to watch that show!

must. kill. youngling. now.

hahahahahahahaha!!!! that reminds me. once i was giving a ride to my son's friend, who was a junior, to work at a coffee shop. the two of them were chatting away at the backseat. i felt impolite to eavesdrop their conversation but one sentence did get into my ears. the friend was making some comment about the guy in charge of the coffee place and said "he is an old guy. he is like 30 already."
