It reminded me a lot of The Princess Bride with its humor and action.
Robert De Niro as the cross dressing Pirate was hysterical but in my opinion, it was Michelle Pfeiffer as an evil witch that made the movie.
I hadn't seen her in a movie in years. We definitely need MORE of her!! She was 100% fantabulous!

agree whole-heartedly...and the only reason for claire danes is a I figure the blonde hair. But that boy...whoever he was...HE was cute. And 'Septimus'? hot, hot, hot!!
I draw the line at a cross=dressing Travolta tho and WON'T be seeing Hairspray!

AND--the star chick? I couldn't concentrate on her acting. I was fixated with her creepy lack of eyebrows! The boy was cute but mrrrrrrrrrrroowrrrr--bad guy Septimus was HOT!!

I saw this movie last night....I have to agrree with you on all points, It was a very enjoyable night at the movies.
Sorry I just CAN'T comment on the spider thing....*Shudders* And the dwarf thing....well...I think I'll come back for that.
