Spring Has Sproing!

April 03
Spring has sproing!
I went to a Casino last night with my boyfriend and a pack of friends. We stood in line to the Buffet. Wow...long line. We spent some time hanging over the wall that surrounded the buffet and yacked at some friends of ours who were sitting at a table eating already.
I went and asked the Cashier if we couldn't just pay and sit with our friends. The male cashier said yes, the girl cashier said NO. *grumble* Back to the line I trudged. We got impatient ( imagine that ) and went to go eat at the nicer restaurant in the Casino. No reservation, 2 hour wait...back we trudged to the Buffet line.
We were grumbling and complaining about leaving the line and pointing out the people who we had been originally standing behind were now at the front of the line...when the couple who stood in front of us turned and made some comment about being patient. Grrrr...
I quirked an eyebrow at the woman and was busy biting back a sarcastic comment rolling around inside me, just begging to come out. Her husband started talking to my boyfriend and explained how they won this trip to the Casino from a contest he had answered on a local radio station. It was a ticket for 4 people to attend the concert and eat at the buffet. I was still feeling sarcastic when I asked what concert. She mentioned the name of the singer (some pucket dude. I have no idea who that is ) I smiled and said I had no clue who that was when she smiled knowingly and said, " Oh yes, you are much too young to remember know who he is". I felt an instant love for this woman. Anyone who can smirk at me and refer to me as " too young " is my new best friend!
Specifically because my boyfriend has taken to calling me "Soon". When I asked what "Soon" meant? He smirked evilly and said, " SOON to be 40!"
The debate as to if he will live to his 48th birthday is still going on between the voices in my head...
The couple ended up being very sweet people. They offered to pay for our dinner on their contest coupon as it was for 4 people and they came alone. The lady said, " See? It pays to talk to strangers!" All's I could think of was this past months lecture to my 7 yr old son about NOT talking to strangers. Ah, the sweet smell of irony...or is that the cookie dough pie on the buffet table? *sniff sniff* Dang, I smell chocolate...GET THIS LINE MOVING!!!
